VINO CIBULKA

We are a family business that fulfilled its dream in 1995 and opened a hotel in the heart of the Lednice-Valtice area right next to the Lednice castle. The time spent in the wine region influenced our decision to establish a small organic winery next to the hotel. And so, in 2005, the story of our winery began.

At that time, our first vineyard was added to our field of herbs and vegetables, which we grew for our restaurants and hotel at the time. We started to make wine without unnecessary chemicals for our guests and paired it with our cuisine. Visitors of our hotel liked the wine as it was organic and contained much less sulfur than the wines available at the time. And so we gradually began to expand the vineyards, add more varieties and increase production.

 

Time passed and in 2017 we decided to focus only on winemaking and sold the hotel in Lednice.

 

We threw ourselves into winemaking. Our organic wines are characterized by gentle processing, minimal interventions in the natural processes of fermentation and subsequent aging of the wine. Today we cultivate 32 hectares of vineyards. Our winery offers, for example, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pálava, Chardonnay or resistant varieties such as Hibernal or Solaris.

 

In 2013, while looking for new cellar spaces for maturing of our sparkling wines, we discovered the dilapidated summer chateau Portz Insel on the Silent Island near Mikulov, which was built in 1627 by Cardinal František Dietrichstein. Today, the summer chateau has been renovated and our guests can taste our wines and sparkling wines in its main hall or in the 400-year-old underground.

 

And since more and more of our friends and guests come for our wines, we had no choice but to open at least a small guesthouse in the center of Mikulov.
